SUBMITTING TO THE EAST BAY REVIEW

We accept submissions year round, so please upload previously unpublished fiction and nonfiction to our submissions portal after carefully reading the guidelines below.

PROSE GUIDELINES
Please submit stories or nonfiction pieces to our online portal. You may submit work as often as you wish, but we ask that you wait for a response before submitting any additional work, ONLY ONE SUBMISSION PER GENRE. We are not interested in any one particular style of writing, and are not looking for work about any particular theme or topic. We are looking for engaging work from good writers.

Submissions should be no longer than 25 pages, and while flash fiction will certainly be considered, it would really have to “wow” the editors to have a chance. Please use standard formatting for submissions—MS Word or PDF, Times New Roman, 12pt, Double Spaced (wingdings acceptable). Be sure to include page numbers, and include full name, address, email and telephone in the top left corner of the first page only. Submissions that fall outside the parameters of the guidelines run the risk of going unread.

POETRY GUIDELINES
You may submit up to three poems in one attachment. Please begin each poem on its own page with the title indicated. Format each poem as you wish it to appear, but use Times New Roman, 12pt font.

Be sure to include page numbers, and include full name, address, email and telephone in the top left corner of the first page only.

COMICS
We are now accepting comic submissions! Please submit UP TO THREE comics for consideration by our staff. Comics should, preferably, be one to three full pages; however, we’re open to anything. Submissions should be in JPG or PDF form. If you submit a PDF, a JPG image will be required for publishing.
